On Aug 16th, 2012, the first ever PERONI Style Atlanta: Emerging Designers Competition presented by Peroni Nastro Azzurro and Field Marketing Manager, Steve Canal was hosted at the Carnegie Salon (200 Peachtree). Peroni Italian Beer (affectionately known as " Style in a Bottle) gave four emerging designers a chance to showcase their talents to experts and decision makers in the fashion industry. The judges hailed from such great organizations as SCAD, America's Mart, The Fashion List, SAKS Fifth Avenue and Konsortium Kollections. The grand prize includes an all expense paid trip for two to NY Fashion Week 2013 and a photoshoot for their line.
Afriyie Poku won the 2012 PERONI Style Atlanta Emerging Designers Competition with his menswear line Oberama Afriyie which means “the man who is at the right place at the right time.”
